About The Living Room
The Living Room is a free online community for men, women and children 13 and older living with cancer, as well as their families and friends. Created and managed by Gilda’s Club Worldwide, The Living Room is an extension of Gilda’s Club’s global network of individual clubhouses located throughout North America. Like local Gilda’s Clubs, The Living Room is a warm, caring and welcoming place where anyone whose life has been touched by cancer can find information, understanding and support about learning how to live with cancer. Twenty-four hours a day, wherever they may be, members of The Living Room know they do not have to face cancer alone.
About Gilda’s Clubs and Gilda’s Club Worldwide
Learning to LIVE with cancer is the foundation on which Gilda’s Club exists. Founded in memory of comedian Gilda Radner who died of cancer in 1989, Gilda’s Clubs are distinguished by their unique philosophy and free program which encourages and empowers people to re-focus on their lives at a very critical point in the cancer experience. Through support groups, social events, seminars, workshops, specialized children’s programs and more, members realize that the real benefit of Gilda’s Club is rooted in their ability to learn from and share with others who are dealing with exactly the same issues. Gilda’s Clubs have helped tens of thousands of men, women, and children receive the emotional and social support so necessary when cancer is in the family.
Gilda’s Club Worldwide is the headquarters organization for the network of clubhouses located throughout North America and is the creator and manager of The Living Room. The Worldwide staff works with communities around the world to sustain Gilda’s Clubs and to advocate for the importance of emotional and social support for anyone touched by cancer.
